California HOV Carpool Sticker with PPF

Ever been to a dealership, and the salesman just sounds like they’re trying to rip you off? Well, that’s pretty much how I feel whenever I try to explain to my customers why it’ll take me 20-30 minutes to remove each expired HOV sticker. Honestly, if it was a quick process, I wouldn’t ask for any time ($) at all. But it really is a drawn out process in order to remove these stickers safely. Why? Because there are VOID VOID VOID VOID (anti-theft) adhesive residue left behind the sticker as soon as you peel off the protective film.

So, save yourself, or your detailer the headache of having to remove these expired HOV stickers, spend the extra 5 minutes to prep the stickers before applying it, and it’ll save you hours when its’ time to remove them.

If you’re local, or if we’re already working on your car, we will happily do this for you free of charge (Installing the HOV sticker that is), or give you some scrap PPF to do it yourself. It’s really simple.

Tools and materials used for this project:

The link above is to my eBay listing, for those who are not local, or are from out of the area. Just a few bucks to cover my time, and I will mail to you four pieces for you to do this DIY yourself.

It’s really simple:

  1. Apply HOV sticker to PPF

  2. Trim off excess

  3. Clean off area where you will stick your HOV stickers

  4. Peel off backing, and stick to car (Optional: Spray soapy water, apply film, and squeegee liquids out, which is typically how PPF is applied. I only say that it is optional so that you minimize touching your paint).

  5. Enjoy your HOV lane-driving until your sticker is expired. It’ll peel off in one piece with minimal cleanup.
